THEY'VE ARRIVED!

Christmas Day brought more than it's usual array of gifts! We welcomed 14 new members of the family! 6 girls (4 reds and 2 black & tans) and 8 boys (4 of each colour) arrived kicking and screaming into my world! I suspect that one of the girls will be named "Mary Christmas"!

Here are their first "published" photos!

Priscilla's pregnancy pic!

With still almost 2 weeks to go, she's looking AWFULLY big! Priscilla is now installed in her whelping box and is continually napping in preparation for those many sleepless nights and days!

Holidays!

Wishing everyone all the very best of the season!

Hoping your "howlidays" are happy and safe!

Exciting News!

We have a new Bloodhound litter coming!

They're due December 29th, and we're expecting black & tans and red puppies!

Mom is Priscilla (Edenhill Mason Priscilla).

Dad is Blue (Mason-Olbay Blue Suede Shoes).

If you might be interested in a pup, feel free to email me for more information!

It's been a while!...

...since I've posted.

The boy that I kept from the May litter (now known as "Thunder", or his registered name - Mason-Murphy Perfect Storm) has grown huge and has already obtained points toward his Canadian championship, in only 2 weekends! His first time in the ring he won Best Puppy in Group. This is a competition where all the hounds puppies compete for Best Puppy. He truly enjoys the showring and all that's associated with it! Thunder is co-owned by his Grandma Sue Power (who owns his dad Fred) and he's staying at her house and enjoying his cousins for a few months.

Look at those "bedroom eyes!"

NOT Bloodhound puppy related!

My daughter sent me these pictures of my granddaughter Sera, and I couldn't resist posting them here! Proud Grandma? Nah!!
These were taken at a shepherd specialty where they sort of make some concessions for "little people"! This is Sera and "her" puppy Visa! Nice to see she may be able to handle my bloodhounds when I can't!

Our neighbor breeds Quarter Horses and has a few babies this year. This is the latest one! This child has no fear of anything, and simply gravitates to animals! A budding veterinarian? (with any kind of luck at all!!)

Sue and Tom Schreck came to visit a couple of weeks ago. They will be taking "Roxie" (red collar girl) home with them in a few weeks. Here are some pictures that they took while they were here.
Do you think Sue's in LOVE??
.....and of course Sera had to get in on the action!!

The Great Outdoors!

These guys just love to run and play! I finally had the camera ready during a play session!

They certainly enjoy "kid" company when playing! This is Nathan, my step-grandson, who is their "chief-cook-and-bottle-washer" when I'm at work.

Do you think if I lay flat they'll find me? Nah, his nose isn't THAT good!

Well...maybe it is?

This is Petey, Nathan's Golden Retriever. He's SO good with the pups, and the pups just love to torment him!

FINALLY!! Puppy pictures!

Okay! So it's finally happening! Here are some photos of the "Mahalia/Fred" babies. Yes, they are still babies, but certainly not newborn!! They were born May 28, 2007, so they are about 6 1/2 weeks old as of today. After a rough start they are now growing in leaps and bounds, some putting on about 1/2 pound a day! The little boy with the purple collar (we've named him "Earl"), was so close to death I didn't think there was any way he'd survive...but survive he did and is now thriving! It will take him a little bit to catch up to the others, but he's first into the food bowl and last to leave! It's hard to believe that they'll be leaving for their new homes in a short couple of weeks!

This is my granddaughter Sera helping them with their first meal...as if they needed help!

Here are some individual pictures of the puppies. Please bear in mind that my daughter (the shepherd handler!) is doing the stacking! There was a fair amount of white on these puppies, including a couple with some white on their muzzles and forehead. This is gradually disappearing, and will be completely gone in a few weeks.
